Impact study of COVID-19 in artisanal mining communities

Objective
The objective of this project was to collect, process and share information and data to understand how COVID-19 restrictions affect the economic and social life of miners and their families.
Participants
The project involved various actors in the artisanal and small-scale mining sector in the North Central and Southwestern regions of Burkina Faso. They include artisanal miners, gold buyers, civil society, public administration.
Methodology
This data collection was carried out through telephone interviews based on questionnaires developed by Delve. Focusing on key themes such as mineral supply chains, health and safety, food security, human security and gender, these data will be collected and recorded on Kobo Toolbox. The results will be published on the Delve website for public use.
