- Engineering for Change LLC (E4C), an experienced accelerator, provides training and support in the field and user testing, product development and engineering, market validation, and financial sustainability models;
- USAID Peru’s Prevenir Project provides financing for field testing.
- Centro de Innovación Científica Amazónica (CINCIA) providing support with environmental impact assessments and monitoring.

Project Summary
Objective:
To complete the components of the ASM progress App platform, incorporating the Forest Smart Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (FS-ASM) standard; testing the platform in the field and its usefulness for supply chain actors; as well as validating the commercial strategy of the innovation.
Beneficiaries
Groups of artisanal and small-scale gold miners in the Amazon in 3 countries: Peru, Guyana, and Suriname.
Activities
- Advance and complete the development of the ASM Progress App integrating Forest Smart Mining (FSM) criteria.
- Test the application of the tool in the field with miners and its usefulness for CSOs and local authorities.
- Define and implement the commercial strategy of the application with its customers.
Some expected results
- ASM Progress App platform with built-in FS-ASM criteria.
- Performance reports of the mining sites visited, using the platform.
- Validation of platform functionality by potential customers.
- Sustainable business model for the ASM Progress App.
