The cooperative has been recertified under the Fairmined Standard for the fourth consecutive year.

The Fairmined Standard is an international seal that certifies good social, environmental and labor practices. With each passing year, the certified mining organizations have to meet more stringent requirements, which demands a great effort in order to demonstrate that a responsible artisanal and small-scale mining is possible.

It is with great pride that ARM informs that Iquira’s cooperative is the first ASMO to get certified four years in a row. With this recertification they should the world that, with much effort and dedication, a cooperative can work responsibly in regard to environment protection, working conditions, Fairmined Premium governance, development plan and commercial relations.

ARM will continue providing this ASMO with post-certification support to ensure that it remains at the lead of the responsible artisanal and small-scale mining sector.

Congratulations, Íquira; you are a role model and a beacon of hope for many miners!
