On November 28th, the Citizen Journalism workshop by Las2Orillas with fundacion Avina and the Alliance for Responsible Mining had place in Medellin, Colombia, where participants received training and improved their skills for writing stories about the realities they experience in their hometowns, the places they work or communities they visit constantly.

Las2orillas, a digital portal consisting of a team of journalists, provides a space and gives a voice to citizens to tell their stories, show their pictures and write about their experiences. Notes can be about any subject, and can be send to Las2orillas by anyone interested in telling their story.

For the Alliance for Responsible Mining, the workshop was a great tool to train local coordinators of projects, local leaders of mining municipalities and members of the ARM team, whose participation was made possible with support from the Inter-American Development Bank (BID – FOMIN).
