The Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) and Fairtrade International would like to thank all stakeholders for participating in the consultation on the Fairtrade & Fairmined (FT&FM) Standard for Gold from Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining, including Associated Precious Metals. The consultation concluded on 07.10.2012 with a total of approximately 150 stakeholders (individuals and institutions) that contributed their views and perspectives through written comments and through participation in workshops. Thanks to these replies, there is a solid understanding of the critical issues and concerns, including potential solutions.
Together with the results of the research carried out and the results of the planned second round of public consultation, this information will form the basis for future recommendations to Fairtrade International’s Standards Committee and to ARM´s Fairmined Standard Committee. The decision on the final Standard will be taken in full knowledge of stakeholders’ comments.
