Fairtrade and Fairmined (FT&FM) gold was launched in the Netherlands in an event hosted by Solidaridad in Amsterdam on the 7th of May 2012.

From ARM, our Excecutive Director Lina Villa participated as well as Santiago Ramirez from the mining company MACDESA and Federico Gamarra from the support organization Red Social who shared their experiences with Fairtrade and Fairmined (FT&FM) gold with the large group of international guests, primarily from the jewelry and mining sectors, telling about the impact FT&FM has made on their communities and on artisanal and small scale mining in Peru.

10 Dutch jewelers presented their first collections of jewelry with the Fairtrade & Fairmined stamp and Dutch celebrity Katja Römer-Schuurman got to wear a bracelet produced from the first Fairtrade and Fairmined Gold in the Netherlands.

We would like to give a big thank you to Solidaridad and Max Havelaar Netherlands for their hard work in bringing Fairtrade and Fairmined gold to the Dutch market and to Oxfam NovibDOEN and Both Ends for believing in our iniciative and supporting responsible mining since 2003.
