UPON REACHING THE CERTIFICATION MILESTONE FOR FAIRTRADE AND FAIRMINED GOLD, ARM ANNOUNCES THAT CRISTINA ECHAVARRÍA WILL CHANGE ROLES TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE BOARD, AND LINA VILLA HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS THE NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE ORGANIZATION
Given the enthusiastic market and government responses to Fairtrade and Fairmined certified gold, ARM’s current challenge is to scale up the impact of certification and good practice in ASM, and to influence public policy. To drive this ambitious growth plan ARM now needs to expand as a sustainable global institution.
ARM’s Board of Directors and Cristina Echavarría envision that the organisation´s evolution is best achieved by integrating Cristina’s expertise and experience at the Board level to help guide the strategic development of the next phase of work.
Lina Villa has been appointed as the Acting Executive Director of ARM, where she will apply her proven leadership and management skills, as well as her practical experience of working with responsible ASM, to drive ARM´s organisational development and growth.
