Objective:

Accompany, through the Sustainable Mines Program, an Artisanal and Small Scale Mining Organization (ASMO) of gold in Ecuador in the sectors prioritized by the PNGQ to achieve Fairmined certification, systematizing the experience so that the results contribute to building an integration system to responsible supply chain initiatives that comply with recognized international mining standards.

Expected Results:

  1. Certification of a mine in Ecuador – Fairmined
  2. Fifty (50) local people representing miners, civil society organizations, academia, government and international organizations receive training in the methodology of the Sustainable Mines Program, Fairmined certification and the results of the particular experience in Ecuador.
  3. The results of the project, the lessons learned and best practices are systematized and analyzed in a final report on the experience of promoting the certification of responsible mining standards in Ecuador, which includes the gender approach.
