CURRENT PROJECTS
PlanetGOLD Global:
Technical Assistance Consultancy, Training and Documentation on Responsible ASM Supply Chains.
Project duration:
August 2023 – June 2024
Countries:
Burkina Faso, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Indonesia, Mongolia, Kenya, Philippines, Peru (9 countries participating in the first phase of the planetGOLD Programme)
Donor:
Natural Resources Defense Council (via the planetGOLD Global programme)This project is also co-financed by INTEL, GIZ and The Copper Mark.
Partners:
Levin Sources, Alliance for Responsible Mining (lead)

Objective:
- Help document the experiences of the PlanetGOLDNational project with ASM supply chain development, including both successes and challenges in implementing the PlanetGOLD criteria.
- Create and test training materials designed to help miners understand how to meet the PlanetGOLD Criteria.
- Pilot test a mobile application (web-based or native) to track compliance with the PlanetGOLD Criteria.
Project summary:
PlanetGOLDGlobal Supply Chain seeks to generate spaces for knowledge exchange and data collection from national PlanetGOLD projects (9 participating countries) to promote information and trainings to understand the criteria, their application and test a mobile application to track compliance with PlanetGOLD criteria.
The project will be developed in 4 stages, where the experiences of the national PlanetGOLD project with the development of ASM supply chain mechanisms will be evaluated, looking at both progress and barriers. This knowledge gathering and sharing will be the fundamental tool for the creation of training materials to help ASM miners adhere to and document compliance with PlanetGOLD criteria.
A pilot project will be conducted in a PlanetGOLD country, testing the use of a mobile application for tracking compliance with the criteria, based on an evaluation and analysis of existing ASM mobile apps that have been designed to track compliance with responsible sourcing standards. Following all activities, an analysis of ASM supply chain successes and barriers encountered to date will be prepared.
