Objective:

Prevent mercury pollution affecting human and animal health and restore degraded areas in the Amazon rainforest in Madre de Dios, Peru.

This project seeks to reduce the environmental impact of mining activities in four concessions of the Tauro Fátima Artisanal Mining Association (AMATAF). ARM will provide them with support to achieve Fairmined certification, extended for two years after certification.

4 AMATAF Concessions.

50 miners in 4 AMATAF mining concessions: Abel 3, Fátima, Príncipe Azul 1 and Linda 2.

• 4 mines are on their way to obtaining Fairmined certification (Linda 2, Fátima, Abel 3, and Príncipe Azul 1). They successfully passed the audits in September 2022.
